SANREM Knowledgebase (SKB)

The SANREM Knowledgebase (SKB) is a database of information resources (books, reports, journal articles, videos, movies, presentations) produced or identified, classified, and summarized by SANREM CRSP researchers. These experts are providing easy access to information resources relevant to SA and NRM. The SKB is also the repository for all SANREM CRSP-generated information resources. There are now 2,162 metadata entries, 250 of them the products of SANREM CRSP Phase III. This searchable database is organized by landscape system, as well as providing searchable fields such as title, creator/author, creation date, keywords, media type, time period, location, description (abstract), language, and SANREM Project Number (if appropriate).

Since going online in 2005, the SKB has been continually evaluated and improved. It provides the ability for SANREM CRSP researchers to classify and catalog resources. The general public has the ability to search the database for published resources. These may be searched by a number of criteria, including title, keyword, creation date, GPS location, and date of data collection. Resources matching the given criteria are returned in a list from which they can be inspected and downloaded if appropriate.
