Awards

Designed to honor Virginia Tech faculty/staff members worthy of recognition for their contributions to the international service and outreach mission of Virginia Tech. As examples, contributions can take the form of new international program starts; on- or off-campus international program management; representation of Virginia Tech internationally in outstanding fashion through speaking, writing, consulting or project management. (Categories are suggestive and not intended to be exhaustive in nature.)

The award will take the form of a suitably inscribed plaque. It shall be awarded during the spring chapter initiation ceremony scheduled for Wednesday April 25, 2007.

Eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Applicants shall be members of faculty or staff at Virginia Tech, wither active or emeriti
  • Applicants shall have rendered service for a sufficient period of time to allow them to distinguish themselves
  • Applicants shall have made significant contributions relating to the Virginia Tech international mission in the areas of service and outreach
  • Applicants shall be willing to attend the spring ceremony in order to receive the award in person
