Watershed Management Advisor
(WMA)
The WMA
provides technical and advisory support to ANRS government and non-government
institutions and community watershed management organizations in land use
planning, natural resource conservation programs and training. Specifically, the
WMA handles the following duties and responsibilities:

Develops annual plans for operating pilot watershed and extension
learning centers, elaborating the approach, methodology and techniques;

Works with the WOARD, PVO and NGO partners to support community
empowerment, participation, and management in the watershed and extension
learning centers;

Works with the BoARD to identify short-term technical assistance
needs for extension and watershed management activities, develops specific
terms of reference for such assistance, identifies appropriate individuals to
meet these needs;

Facilitates the work of short-term TA experts from the USA;

Coordinates extension and watershed management activities with
implementing partners and other donor partners;
-
Reviews technical reports prepared by short-term consultants, and
facilitates the implementation of recommendations as agreed upon with the
BoARD;
-
Prepares annual work plans, progress reports, field trip reports,
workshops and seminars pertinent to the watershed component;
-
Works closely with the CoP of AMAREW as well as the research,
extension, and training advisors in the integration of project activities.
