2009 Induction and Awards Ceremony

Phi Beta Delta, the Honor Society for International Scholars, call for student, faculty and staff nominations for membership. The Virginia Tech Gamma Omega Chapter seeks your assistance in bringing the Society and the opportunity for new membership to the attention of qualified faculty, staff and students. Completed nomination forms are due: March 2nd.

Affiliation with Phi Beta Delta (PBD) offers recognition of past and continuing activities and achievements in the international arena. Our chapter, in particular, provides a forum for individuals from various disciplines to meet in the interest of promoting a more enriching, internationally oriented, educational experience for those associated with Virginia Tech. It also provides the opportunity for faculty and staff members to interact with undergraduate and graduate students in a professional, yet informal, forum to exchange views on important international issues. As well, it is a means for faculty members to stay in touch with groups of like-minded scholars on other campuses throughout the United States and the world. Such networking opportunities constitute a valuable commodity in today's competitive world. In addition, faculty and staff members are eligible for several prestigious annual awards made at the national level.

Application forms can be obtained from Betty Watts at bettyw@vt.edu.

You may also nominate qualified individuals by sending their names to Terry Clements at tclement@vt.edu as soon as possible. We will contact nominees directly. Please forward this announcement to others who may have suggestions for nominations for the awards or membership.
