Chapter News
During the past school
year, the Virginia Tech chapter (Gamma Omega) of Phi Beta Delta,
the honor society for international scholars, has been actively
involved in the promotion and recognition of international scholarship,
teaching, and service. Since the restructuring of the University
Office of International Programs, Phi Beta Delta now enjoys renewed
staff support from the new Office of International Research, Education,
and Development.
New officers were
installed for 2009-2010: Professor Professor Yannis Stivachtis, President;
Professor Rachel Scott, Vice President Faculty/Staff;
Akiko Nakamura, Vice President International Students;
Honeigh Meletis, Vice President United States
Students; Nicole Sanderlin, Secretary; Betty Watts, Treasurer; Jerry Berkley-Coats, Chapter Coordinator; Kathryn Ticknor, Assistant Coordinator.
The Induction Ceremony
for Fall 2009 will be held on October 14, 2009. The application
deadline is September 18, 2009.
