Experience summary: Robert has more than 10 years of experience with forestry and biodiversity conservation activities. Before coming to Virginia Tech, Robert worked with The Nature Conservancy as Chief of Party for BOLFOR II, a sustainable forestry project in Bolivia. He also served Deputy Director of the Bolivia program, where he managed several protected area projects. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Director of the Environment Office at USAID/Bolivia and Cognizant Technical Officer for forestry and cleaner development activities. Robert has also worked with the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) in Yokohama, Japan; the Ministry for Sustainable Development in La Paz, Bolivia; and forest products companies in the United States and Argentina.
