The Presidential Policy Memorandum No. 225 is a checklist of
administrative responsibilities for Education Abroad programs.
Before your trip, you will send a copy of the completed
checklist on page 3 and copies of the information
related to the "Information Disclosure" section to our office. Included in this section are two
forms: Authorization for Release of Information
and Emergency Contact.
You keep the Health Insurance Certificate, Study Abroad Program
Liability Agreement, and the rest of the information for your records.

The University Council on
International Affairs (UCIA) has approved a new policy regarding
the responsibilities of Virginia Tech students prior to
participating in an education abroad program. The policy
statement is available here.

ACC
Initiative for New Summer Education Abroad Programs
Learn more about the ACC's
initiative for creating new summer education abroad programs in 2008. Up to $50,000
in grant money is available from the ACC for these new programs,
which must involve at least two ACC institutions and be offered
for at least two years. Proposals for new collaborative education abroad
programs are due April 15, 2007. Preference is given for new
programs in South/Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East,
Africa, or Eastern Europe (regions can be broadly defined).

Initiative for New Summer Faculty Development Programs
The ACC has also launched an
initiative for faculty development summer program. Up to $60,000
is available in this initiative.
